The EPI essentials

BCG and OPV at birth, then Pentavalent, PCV and OPV at 6, 10 and 14 weeks, followed by MR at 9 and 15 months. Keep the yellow card safe — schools and embassies ask for it.

Optional but valuable

Rotavirus, hepatitis A, chickenpox, typhoid and influenza vaccines are not in the free schedule but prevent common, disruptive illnesses.

Common worries

Mild fever and a sore thigh for a day are normal. A vaccine should never be skipped for a simple cold, and catch-up is always possible if a dose is missed.

The takeaway

Bring the immunisation card to every visit so we can keep your child on track.
